ETHICS POLICY
Safety, accuracy, transparency, and responsible conduct are important to the hot air balloon experiences offered through hotairballoondubairide.com. Guests rely on the information we publish and the teams and operators involved in delivering their experience. This policy explains the ethical standards we aim to follow in our dealings with guests, partners, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
Guests who book a sunrise flight with us are placing their safety entirely in the hands of our pilot partners and ground crew from the moment they are picked up at 4 AM to the moment they are dropped back at their hotel after breakfast. That level of trust demands a level of ethical commitment that goes beyond what most tourism platforms need to articulate. This policy makes those commitments explicit.
hotairballoondubairide.com operates as a subsidiary of Travel Saga Tourism. This relationship means that the ethical standards outlined in this policy apply to the way we represent our services, communicate with guests, and work with relevant operators, suppliers, and partners.
1. Our Guiding Principles
- Safety above everything — We aim to place guest safety at the forefront of decisions involving our services, including pilot partnerships, operating conditions, and weather-related cancellations. Commercial considerations should not override applicable safety requirements or a qualified pilot’s safety assessment.
- Expertise you can rely on — We aim to work with appropriately qualified and licensed aviation professionals and provide guests with accurate information about the experiences and packages we offer.
- Honest representation — What guests read on our website about a flight experience, its inclusions, its duration, and its conditions must accurately reflect what they will actually experience. We do not dress up contingent details as guaranteed features.
- Transparency about risk — Hot air ballooning is an outdoor, weather-dependent aviation activity. Guests deserve to understand the nature of the experience they are booking — including the realistic possibility of weather-related changes — before they commit.
- Respect — Every guest, regardless of their package tier, group size, or background, receives the same standard of safety, professionalism, and attentiveness from our team and pilot partners.
- Accountability — When something goes wrong, we take responsibility clearly and promptly. We do not deflect to weather, third-party operators, or circumstances as a way of avoiding accountability for our part in the guest experience.

2. Aviation Safety and Regulatory Compliance
Hot air balloon flights in Dubai operate under the regulatory authority of the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) of the UAE. We take our responsibilities under this framework seriously.
- We aim to work only with appropriately licensed and authorised balloon operators and pilots, in accordance with applicable UAE aviation requirements.
- We expect the operators and aviation professionals we work with to maintain and inspect balloons and associated equipment in accordance with applicable aviation and airworthiness requirements.
- Passenger weight and basket capacity limits are determined by applicable operating and safety requirements. We expect these limits to be observed and do not knowingly facilitate operations that exceed applicable limits.
- Guests are required to attend the applicable pre-flight safety briefing before boarding, covering relevant passenger conduct, emergency procedures, and landing instructions.
- Weather assessments are conducted by the pilot before every flight. If weather or operating conditions are assessed as unsuitable for safe flight, the flight may be postponed, rescheduled, or cancelled in accordance with applicable operating procedures. This is a non-negotiable safety protocol, not a commercial decision.
- Safety incidents are documented and reviewed in accordance with applicable reporting requirements and our internal procedures. Where required, relevant incidents are reported to the appropriate authorities.
3. Honest Package Representation
- We aim to ensure that package descriptions, including inclusions, flight duration, altitude information, post-flight activities, and transfer arrangements, accurately reflect the experience offered at the time of booking.
- We are transparent about what is genuinely variable in a balloon flight. The exact duration of a flight can be affected by wind and air conditions. Views vary with visibility. We communicate this context rather than presenting every flight as identical.
- Package inclusions and optional activities are described as accurately as possible, including any additional charges, eligibility requirements, or restrictions that apply.
- We aim to use imagery and descriptions that reasonably represent the package and experience being offered, without intentionally creating misleading expectations about exclusivity, luxury, or inclusions.
If you identify inaccurate information on our website, please see our Corrections Policy for information about how to report a factual error.
4. Weather Cancellations and Guest Rights
Weather-dependent cancellations are an operational reality in hot air ballooning and a direct consequence of our non-negotiable safety policy. We handle them as follows:
- Guests are informed of weather-related cancellations or postponements as early as reasonably possible. Depending on operational and weather conditions, changes may sometimes be communicated close to the scheduled flight time.
- Guests whose flights are cancelled due to weather are offered the choice of a rescheduled flight or a full refund. Neither option is positioned as more preferable; the choice belongs entirely to the guest.
- We do not impose additional charges for rescheduling following a weather cancellation.
- In no circumstance do we proceed with a flight that our pilot partner has assessed as unsafe in order to avoid a refund or maintain a booking.
For the full terms governing cancellations, refunds, and rescheduling, please see our Booking Policy.
5. Environmental Responsibility
The Dubai desert is the setting for every flight we facilitate. We take our responsibility to that environment seriously.
- We expect our operating partners to comply with applicable flight paths, operating zones, environmental requirements, and restrictions relating to protected areas.
- We aim to minimise the environmental impact associated with ground operations, including vehicle movements, waste management, and related guest activities.
- We do not promote or facilitate any post-flight activity that causes harm to desert wildlife or the natural environment.
6. Commercial Conduct
- We aim to ensure that commercial relationships do not result in misleading recommendations or undisclosed conflicts of interest. Any material commercial relationship that could reasonably affect the presentation of a service should be managed transparently.
- We do not knowingly fabricate guest reviews or intentionally manipulate, suppress, or misrepresent genuine guest feedback. Where reviews are collected or displayed through third-party platforms, their publication and moderation remain subject to the applicable platform’s policies.
- We do not engage in any form of bribery, undisclosed commission, or kickback arrangement with partners or suppliers.
7. Conflicts of Interest
Team members and relevant partners are expected to disclose personal or financial interests that could reasonably influence recommendations, supplier relationships, or package promotions. Where a conflict is identified, we aim to manage it appropriately and, where material, disclose it to the relevant stakeholders.
8. Raising a Concern
